Everyone has at least one playlist that they can listen to over and over again.
It probably has the perfect mix of songs to make you feel the entire range ofemotions.
It turns out that everyone doesnt operate like that.
Some people, like the posters girlfriend, fixate on one specificsongand ignore literally everything else.
But this weird habit of hers almost ended her relationship.
Bored Pandareached out to a musical expert to understand this complicated situation.
We contactedAaditya Surve, a music producer and sound designer working in the ad industry.
He said, Yes, but not to this extent.
I know of people who get obsessed with a song for a while and just listen to that.
And even I can be like that at times if I really like a track.
To have a stronger connection to one or a few songs is totally normal.
But to have no connection to other music is unfathomable for me, Aaditya explained.
It does seem like the womans love for this track went way beyond the norm.
She had only listened to different versions of it for the entire two years of their relationship.
The poster wasnt sure if his partner wasneurodivergentand stated that she had never performed any other repetitive behaviors.
The problem is its way harder to diagnoseautism in womenthan in men.
We decided to askAadityawhy someone would become obsessed with a track.
He said: I think definitely nostalgia, memories, and connection for me.
Im not sure how everyone else connects with their music since its very subjective and personal.
Music can make a listener feel, move, think, or [even] heal them.
Good music makes people feel something that they might subconsciously want to feel more of.
Perhaps the song that someone is obsessed with makes them feel and express or explore just that.
Then searching for other artists similar to these new ones, and so on.
Kind of like a tree sprouting from a seed.
