Taking to social media, influencer Montse Rivera recounted the incident with her cousin.
She said they were hanging out in Cancun, Mexico, when the tourists ran away with her puppy.
Twogringosalmost stole my dog, she said.
Then, another woman took it from the mans hands.
She said, Omg, its adorable.
Can I take it with me?
And we were like, No, you cant.'
However, the pair paid little attention to the owners response and began running away with the pup.
I started screaming like crazy, Theyre trying to steal my dog!
Theyre trying to steal my dog!
And they were so fast.
Speaking withBored Panda, Montse confirmed that the tourists involved were from the United States.
There were three people: two men and a woman.
One of the men started talking to me.
When I turned around, the woman had almost boarded the boat with my dog.
When I realized what was happening, I started screaming and chasing them.
They immediately ran in the opposite direction.
Everyone turned to look because of the screams, and the tourists began to feel everyone staring at them.
If she hadnt acted quickly, the tourist might have sailed off with the puppy.
Hes super specialnot only to me but also to my family.
We had never had a dog before; our previous pets were tortoises and a fish.
We fell in love with him the moment we saw him, and thats why hes so special.
