There are a couple of explanations for this.
Generally speaking, the bride is the one doing the majority of the wedding planning.
They lash out at people, become unreasonably demanding and generally act in an unpleasant manner.
In their mind, it has to be perfect, because its a once in a lifetime event.
This can lead to bizarredecisionsthat end up costing friendships and more.
On top of that, she makes some horrible remarks about the wedding photos being ruined.
There is some chance that OPs friend is simply very stressed and never learned to control her anger.
This doesnt excuse the behavior, but at least explains how she can treat a friend this way.
Either way, OP is absolutely in the right to ditch the wedding.
This is not an event worth enduring abuse over.
After all, she will just ruin OPs wedding pictures, so she is basically doing her a favor.
All in all, this is a pretty classic example of how not to treat your friends.
Regardless of OPs excuses or if she apologizes later, its an ugly look.
Getting angry over the price of a dress over the feelings of a friend is sociopathic behavior.
