Some might say that noise-canceling devices are the best invention since sliced bread.
Well, it kind of is.
So, noise-canceling headphones are like asaving gracefor them.
When the sounds have fluctuating pitch levels, the machine might have a harder time processing and blocking it.
That is known as auditory processing disorder (APD).
And thats just the tip of the iceberg.
This especially applies to young brains.
Our ability to understand speech in noise fully develops only at around10 to 12years old.
This treatment can be done in person or be computer-based.
So, if you get adiagnosisof APD, its not game over.
But its definitely a sign that maybe you should opt for headphones without noise-canceling functions.
