Every parent, by default, wants the best for their child.
Of course, in the sense that parents actually know whats good.
But sometimes, a parentsunderstandingof a good life significantly contradicts how a teenageror an adult childactually sees it.
But dont forget that the author is dealing with a 17-year-old teen!
The mothercookedhim gluten-free foodhe bought burgers at McDonalds.
She ordered dietary correct dishes in restaurantshe tried to sneak bread from someone elses plate.
And over and over.
And he, as you’re free to probably guess, didnt do that.
And his mom, by and large, couldnt spend every minute with him to control his eating behavior.
Which, she fully realizes, would almost be the same as giving up on any diet at all.
And will she be a jerk if she refuses to do anything at all?
Simply due to their experience and professional skills.
And, of course, the mom should go on fighting.
Other responders sincerely believed that this was amothers destinyto venture to help her child, despite his resistance.
If its mild-moderate allergy now, its going to eventually get worse with each exposure.
